Some songs didn't receive comments simply because I was too lazy to write.
This Year's Champion Nemo - The Code#
When I was making my Top 10 for the finals, I placed this song second, mainly because Joost was inexplicably disqualified, and Croatia's Baby Lasagna was receiving a lot of attention, so I temporarily put it in second place. In reality, I've always felt this was the champion in my heart. Even though before the competition I initially liked The Tower, which was unfortunately a disaster live, Nemo's The Code really captured my heart in March. The bizarre Star Rail1 train in the MV and Nemo's powerful operatic performance brought me immense shock before the competition.
Not to mention the live performance. Although the stage design was quite average, Nemo's live performance made me want to bow down in admiration. They managed to maintain a studio-quality performance while spinning around on the turntable.
It's a pity that this song's audience score wasn't very high, and it even became the champion with the lowest audience score in "Eurovision" history. However, surprisingly (yet understandably), the jury points were mostly concentrated in Switzerland, and Nemo's song also made it the second highest-rated song in terms of jury points in "Eurovision" history.
Setting aside certain factors, Nemo's victory is truly well-deserved. The only downside is that the stage design was too plain.
#2 Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim#
This song was my number one in the Top 10 at the time. It felt like country rock...? But it really had a strong vibe and was very passionate! Before the competition, many people believed this song had the potential to win; it received the highest audience votes, and even if some teams tried to sabotage it, they couldn't overshadow the audience's love. Even though it ultimately scored second, this song still felt like a win.
It's quite unfortunate that Croatia missed the chance to win, which in a sense means that small countries have a tough road to victory, but the good news is that Croatia at least doesn't have to host the competition next year — after all, this thing has become a flood now (laughs).
The top two successfully replayed the Eurovision 2023 storyline, with one dominating the jury points and the other soaring in audience points.
#4 Slimane - Mon amour#
This song didn't appear in my Top 10 at the time, simply due to personal style preferences. I didn't realize it until I heard it; Slimane's vocal skills are top-notch, and there's no need to elaborate on that. The song's theme is also about love, and you can tell how heartfelt it is as soon as it starts. The camera work during the performance was also quite interesting.
#5 Tribute to the Legendary Pressure King#
This song never appeared in my Top 10 at the time. It had elements that stepped on my nerves, but I still found it off-putting; the singing was okay, but it ultimately failed under pressure in the finals. The fact that it still managed to get such a high audience score is puzzling. 😓
What can I say? Tribute to the legendary pressure king.
#6 Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue#
This song was my third in the Top 10 at the time.
To be honest, I dare say that many people might not accept this kind of performance and style. I was a bit scared when I first saw the live performance, but after listening a few more times? Witch rock or something, it was exhilarating!!! The live performance was quite good, and the stage design, are you sure it was live? It felt like a full MV, no, a terrifying masterpiece!!! It can be said to be the boldest approach in "Eurovision" history, shocking the hosts for an entire year.
Let me go!!! Avada Kadavra, I speak to destroy!!!!!! Wow!!!
#9 Marcus & Martinus - Unforgettable#
This song was my sixth in the Top 10 at the time. It's an okay pop song, but after all, it's from a big name. At least Sweden successfully avoided the financial explosion from hosting two consecutive years.
In a sense, Norway performed two songs.
#19 Windows95man - No Rules!#
This song was my fifth in the Top 10 at the time. This nostalgic dance track makes me feel like I'm about to take off, even about to travel back to the old nuclear universe; Finland continued the playful style this year, and I saw Windows95man having a blast. Of course, the stage performance might have been a bit too much for the judges. Let's just listen to the song.
\It's how I live my life! NO RULES!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!!!/
Rules are meant to be broken.
#20 5MIINUST x Puuluup - (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi#
The song title has already successfully killed the commentary of many broadcasters. Malta's only direct win.
This song was my eighth in the Top 10 at the time. Estonia's second-hand rose (for sure). The live performance was chaotic, but the studio version was quite enjoyable. The song is fun, has a good atmosphere, and isn't bad.
#24 Kaleen - We Will Rave#
This song was my seventh in the Top 10 at the time. Another nostalgic rave, it vividly brought me back to the feeling of playing "QQ Dance" (is that even something I can say?), perfect for dancing.
But what happened when the live broadcast suddenly froze? It really froze.
Disqualified / Joost Klein - Europapa#
The only song that was completely ROBBED. I don't even know what the heck happened.
Dutch Hardcore? I'm really into this! And it's another retro dance track. Although this song completely flopped in the second semifinal, unexpectedly, it still created a huge atmosphere, and the audience's reaction was probably the biggest in all of Eurovision. Even if the jury show that night only played a recording, the live atmosphere still reached a peak (even more like a rebellion).
At first, I thought the emo outro added live was a misstep, but when the disqualification incident happened, the whole story took on a strangely ironic atmosphere. The entire song poured a lot of Joost's own emotions, that much is certain.
But I can't help but wonder if the staff in the second semifinal had something against the Netherlands, cutting the outro from the replay, leading to the moment when the Netherlands made it to the finals being... exceptionally awkward.
And the unforgettable legend of the Dutch radio station playing Europapa multiple times.
#JOOSTICE
LUNA - The Tower#
I clearly love this song so much 😭 Why did it collapse so badly live? I knew it wouldn't make it to the finals, and the memory of that car crash is still vivid. But this refreshing style really grabs me 😭 Please go listen to LUNA's other songs too 😭 They're really good.
Mustii - Before the Party's Over#
ROBBED. Such a pity, really!!! It's frustrating, why, they sang so well. Was it ruined by the stage design?
Electric Fields - One Milkali (One Blood)#
Actually, I really like this song too; it has a modern Australian + indigenous flavor, very appealing. Unfortunately, the MV was too cheap and lazy, and the live performance was a bit shaky (it really fell apart towards the end). No more to say, Electric Fields' songs are worth a listen. And cherish the days when Australia is still in "Eurovision" (?)
In a sense, it can be considered a public service announcement song?
Quick Reviews#
- #3 alyona alyona & Jerry Heil - Teresa & Maria: This song is actually quite good. The live stage performance was impressive, the singing was decent, and the song itself wasn't overdone.
- #7 Angelina Mango - La noia: It feels substantial, although it's relatively plain, but comfortable.
- #8 LADANIVA - Jako:
Spring Festival Xinjiang branchStrong ethnic vibe, very atmospheric. - #11 Marina Satti - ZARI: Top 10 tenth. Unique and catchy style, although it's a bit abstract.
And it reminded me of Duolingo's Zari. - #12 ISAAK - Always On The Run: To be honest, I actually quite like this song, and it's quite inspirational, but I won't write a review.
- #13 TALI - Fighter: Sang well, at least it's Luxembourg's comeback song.
- #14 Silvester Belt - Luktelk: Slow groove, enjoyable.
- #15 Silia Kapsis - Liar: Top 10 fourth, explosive pop music, very impactful.
- #16 Dons - Hollow: It's okay, just too lazy to write a review.
- #17 TEYA DORA - RAMONDA: lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda lilac ramonda
- #18 Olly Alexander - Dizzy: Top 10 ninth, a pop song that's decent or even good, but the stage performance isn't something everyone can accept (though it's not too bad).
Received 0 audience points. - #21 Nutsa Buzaladze - Firefighter: A great song for the stage.
- #22 Nebulossa - ZORRA: Retro slow groove.

- #25 Gåte - Ulveham: The song is actually quite okay, but it should be hard for most people to accept. Such a pity.
- Aiko - Pedestal: A bit of a Metro flavor in modern rock, the song is okay. But in a sense, it shares the same fate as LUNA.
The audition scene was too funny. It seems not ROBBED, but SCREWED. It completely turned into a skit song (not). - MEGARA - 11:11: SCREWED. Such a pity, the song really has a great funk vibe (right?).
- Hera Björk - Scared of Heights: Nice to listen to, but the song is completely in the safe zone, a bit ordinary, but it doesn't hinder enjoyment.
- Natalia Barbu - In The Middle: ROBBED. The stage design was quite good, and the song can also create a lively atmosphere.

Sorry, although I'm currently quite annoyed with HoYo, I initially really associated this thing with Star Rail () ↩
